This noise comes from the collision between the metal ring on the caster and the star base. Noise commonly occurs when metal chair bases are paired with standard ordinary casters. In contrast, plastic or nylon bases used with standard casters usually do not create this issue.

 There is an upgraded caster design fitted with two metal rings plus a rubber buffer ring. This rubber ring absorbs impact and eliminates the contact noise between the caster and chair base.
